Janie Veltkamp is a trained nurse, raptor biologist, educator and master falconer. She founded and directs the non-profit Birds of Prey Northwest (BOPNW), a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service permitted raptor rehabilitation and education facility near Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
